My 2015 year in a nutshell 😃

Image
Happy Holidays! I'm so grateful for another year that has come and gone so quickly! Excuse me if my events are out of order...  This year I've made so many friends and I've lost some.  I turned 16 while I realized everyone around me was turning 17... 😳 Ive been on 4 but almost 5 dates with some crazy, but incredible young men. I was able to go to Nauvoo and remember not only Joseph's Smith sacrifice, but the pioneers (my own ancestors!) they gave everything to God and I am sure they will go to Zion because they did.  I was able to receive my YWs medallion and that was a huge accomplishment for me because most of my time was dedicated to Colorguard. I ended up not doing Colorguard for fall season but came back for winterguard and I'm enjoying it!  I also got a job this year and loved every minute of it. I like making people smile and serving them yummy food. Through all the trials in my life so far, I've been able to see Gods hand in my life  and wow am I gratef

The reason why I love B guard ❤️

A few weeks ago I tried out for the 2015-16 winterguard season. And even though there was this rule they had that said: Only people who were in fall show last year can get a spot on the open team this year...I went to tryouts hoping they would break that rule just for me. Why? Open guard is where the most talented, top dog Colorguard people go and I happened to be up there last year. I felt so loved and appreciated!  However, I made a decision that changed my life and I decided not to do fall show.  And guess what? I lived without it, but I still knew a piece of my life was missing... And that was guard.   So with a little bit of bribery from my sister who is freaking amazing at this sport, I went to clinics to prepare for tryouts. I did the routines and I felt like I had never left. Except, I did leave, so I felt out of place at the same time.  Well the day of tryouts came. I frantically paced myself so that every move I did was fabulous and every flag toss I did was perfected. Tryout

The Ability to Choose

Image
Today in seminary I learned about judgement and how it is okay to judge others as long as it is righteously. (Let's back that up to say I ALREADY knew that and was just waiting for everyone else to get it. )       We make choices everyday and sometimes those choices lead to mistakes. Sometimes, we think we aren't going to make it through the worst of worsts. That outcome can lead us to cry, or punch your sibling, (jk, please don't do that!!!!) or watch Netflix. (I just described my life in one sentence.)         But thanks to the Lord, we can have more than second chances again if we faithful!!! Having confidence to know that there's a savior who would bleed at every pore and die for us is a huge freaking sacrifice! Just read D+C 19:16-19 for more details!!!       Haha that relates me back to another seminary lesson where my seminary teacher had a stuffed animal puppy and a knife. That lesson not only made me hold my stuffed animals a little closer, but also showed me t

Sadies 2k15

Image
Ya know if you asked me how sadies was in one word I would say: Supercalafrajalisticexpealidocious. :) I am literally the luckiest girl tonight.  It included Taylor Swift  Laughter  Hugs TFIOS (the fault in our stars, five beautiful letters.)  Video games  Cute little girls Pics  And Payton's amazing dance moves.  Woah! If you just read that whole list... You're a rockstar. Pat on the back. That's just 10% of the fun we had. It was epic.  And S/O to the young man who knows how to be a gentleman, has the purrfect cat jokes, and just kills it on the dance floor. Thank you again for going with me!!! It was the best date with the best guy. 😊

That Kenzie Girl

Image
Hello my friends!  I'm that Kenzie Girl, 16, happily single not wanting to mingle. (Even though dating is fun, relationships are not my idea of a good time!) I like to do anything you like to do, (sleep, shop, dream about boys, sing, Netflix and chill, etc!) I also to be actively engaged in sports. My favorite is color guard! I love it because you can put feeling into it without words! You can also dance and spin a object that can hit and hurt you!( knowing this because I hit myself in the eye recently and it wasn't fun... Come talk to me if you want to see the video) XD Most importantly, I love being me. It's super fun to see everyone's talents and abilities, but I know that I will never be them because then that wouldn't be me!  So next time you see me, I hope you will think of that Kenzie girl as interesting, because really am!!!   Want to know even more about me? Shoot me a msg on Facebook, Instagram, or through iMessage at my email! 😁😁😁

What are you thankful for?

Don't we always have that one best friend in our lives that just beats everyone else? Well, if you're thinking you're the only one you're not alone. Yes, it may seem lame but my mom is my best friend! Because if you think about it in a spiritual perspective... she's my sister. She's probably the best best friend I've ever had in my life. In fact, I will give you my "shortened" list of why she's amazing.  She gives the best advice even when I don't want to admit it. She's also really funny and when she laughs it so cute. She's kind, accepting, friendly, a listener, laughs at all my bad jokes. Comforted me when my used to be best friend stop talking to me. She's comforted me when I have depression, stress, or anxiety. She helped me get ready for my first date and made sure I looked 10x more beautiful for the 2nd one. She still helps me pick out my clothes sometimes and I still let her do my hair every once in a while.

You make a difference :)

Today I thought it would be the scariest day of my life as I waited forever at the blood drive.  The only thing that kept me from leaving that line  was my faith in my savior,  my "I make a difference" sticker And the fact that today was the day I wanted to change people lives for the better.(Even if I had to do it through a needle!) I'm lucky that I can save at most a couple of people's lives with my blood. But I can do much more than than help a couple people, I can help a community, the whole planet, or even the whole universe! (But that would need a TARDIS which I don't have money for in my bank account right now.) 😭  Im gonna compare my blood donation to missionary work. Missionaries spend 18-24 months out on a mission to teach the gospel. They do it voluntarily and it can be very hard at times to get investigators! However, missionaries possibly are my favorite people because they never give up. They also learn to come super close to the Lord... Something

Thanks Taylor

Ever since I moved here from Utah in 2007, I have listened to Taylor Swift music and I just wanted to say, thanks Tay! Your songs have  helped me get through my bad days and change my mood to happy every time. You help me dance even though I'm not the best dancer, and you have helped me sing my heart out. Even though more and more people are hating you because youre turning into a cat lady, or you transitioned from country to Pop... I still love you because you have always inspired me through music! Thanks for getting me through high school so far, your albums always continue to leave a smile on my face as I leave my bedroom. Even when you retire from singing, I will remember you because I will always be the fan girl who was never able to go to any of your concerts and was never able to constantly talk about how amazing your music is to anyone else (except Payton, or my mom.) Life without your music would probably not be the same so thanks for creating it! I know you've inspire

Sadies with PH. :)

Update!!! Only special things wake me up early during a school break. Those things are: Christmas, Thanskgiving and/or surprise texts saying that you have something at your doorstep. He said yes and I'm So glad my patience stayed with me! He never ceases to amaze me. So yeah! There's my rant. I'm going to Sadies with PH! Sounds a lot like chemistry terms... Hahaha!

Look on the Bright Side Sunshine!!!

Trying something new sometimes can be really scary... Don't ya think? Asking someone to Sadies, donating blood, or getting your first job... The list goes on and on! I went to Lagoon this summer with my friend Jacob and his sister wanted to go on the skycoaster! (It is a frefalling to your death ride as tall as cannibal which is 208ft. If you need to see a video.. Ask me or YouTube.)  I volunteered to go with her!  we were about to go but she lost the $20!!! I still had mine and being the daredevil thatI am... I went on that deathly ride alone. (They could make a frightmare dummy out of my carcus if I had died.) So I walked up to 3 grown men getting off the ride and here's my cute little 15 year old self, scared out of her wits but is trying to be braver than ever. As they propelled me up so I could see the people inside of their airplanes, I cannot describe all the emotions going through my head! As they said to let go I felt like death was near. But then... I flew! So freakin

We Have Something in Common

You say, we have nothing in common! No common ground to start from, and we're falling apart!!! -Breakfast at Tiffany's. As I was jamming out to this song tonight on the way home from work, I thought of one of my friends that I've known since 9th grade! I remember this person used to say we had nothing in common... but the truth is, we have a ton in common! So in this world with a million people you don't know.. get to know them so you can be a good friend to them! You don't know how much it will change their life if you know their favorite color, candy, or favorite book, you won't have to keep asking them because you will just KNOW! Service can go a long way and I believe that to be true. Its the only thing that makes me truly happy. At my work, I try to give the kids high fives and talk to people to be more friendly! I may only see them once in life, but it's nice to see a smile on their face when they leave my sandwich shop! We all have something in comm

The beginning of Kenzie Blog

Image
Hey all! I'm the girl who secretly wanted a blog because everyone elses blogs lifted me up! I want to lift others up too. My theme at the top of the blog "Light and Excellence" is my schools motto. Lux et Virtus means that every student has light and excellence in themselves! So if you believe you're worth nothing, or you don't have that light... I have 2 words. Stop. It!!!  You're better than you think you are. You were sent here to gain knowledge and experience! We all stumble and fall when going through experience and that's okay! School is a blessing, we are so blessed to have school in our lives even if it gets boring. Just be you, laugh A LOT, and have light and excellence so you can be an example to everyone you meet on the street!  Doing this will bring happiness to your soul if you do it. I promise this with all my heart and hope you have sunshine in your soul the rest of this week! Love you all, and have a fabulous Fall Break! :)
